OOCL expands its Scandinavian Express Service (SBX)
The company is committed to serve the growing Baltic markets as it increases in capacity and additional port coverage.
OOCL announces the upgrading of their existing SBX service with the addition of a sixth vessel with a nominal capacity of 1000 TEU’s. She will be deployed directly into the company's SBX1 network increasing its capacity by 5%. The SBX2 network will be upgraded from two vessels to three vessels with the phasing in of the OOCL Nevskiy from the SBX1, thereby increasing the company’s weekly capacity by 45%. The overall capacity increase across our entire SBX network will be 20%, according to an OOCL report.
OOCL will add Kotka to the SBX2 rotation in addition to a second call at St. Petersburg, which will be calling at Petrolesport (PLP). The company will maintain 3 weekly calls to St. Petersburg First Container Terminal (FCT).

The new service is scheduled to commence from Hamburg May 15, 2011.
