Sa Sa slated to open 20 stores in the next 18 months
That's on top of its c100 existing atores in Hong Kong.
According to Barclays Research, in the near term, Sa Sa expects to open another 20 stores in Hong Kong in the next 18 months, on top of the c100 stores it already has in Hong Kong.
Here's more:
Following more reasonable rental negotiations with landlords, the company also sees more opportunities for resumption of store openings in traditional tourist areas (it has already started opening stores in these areas).
Testing a lifestyle store concept
In June, Sa Sa plans to open a 20,000 sq ft store near Times Square in Causeway Bay, taking over premises previously leased by the G.O.D. store.
The new lifestyle concept store will include sub-leased areas, as well as services sections such as a cafe, a nail bar, a beauty salon and a hair salon.
This is part of Sa Sa’s efforts to explore a new store concept and also to increase its distributed brands to include some non-traditionalcosmetics/personal care brands (such as professional hair care products).
While we believe the profitability outlook for this planned store is uncertain as this is a new concept for Sa Sa, the sub-leased areas should provide some guarantee of revenue.
If this concept proves successful, we believe it would strengthen Sa Sa’s branding as the place to shop for a wide range of beauty products and even beauty services.
