According to a report, customs officers have seized $60 million worth of unmanifested goods, including electronic products and endangered species specimens, smuggled aboard a river trade vessel.

They stopped the Mainland vessel, heading for Humen, Guangdong, off Black Point on May 16.

They found three 45-foot containers declared to contain "polyethylene balls".

However, inside were 4,200 cameras and lenses, 6,200 tablet computers, 42,000 computer hard-disks, 165,000 liquid crystal display panels, 7,800 computer mother boards, 900,000 integrated circuits, and 200kg of endangered species specimens, like ivory, pangolin scale, and dried sea horse.

The consignments were camouflaged with 180 bags of polyethylene balls.

No arrests have been made so far.
