
Tsang luring Victorian firms to Hong Kong
Chief Executive Donald Tsang is encouraging Victorian companies to establish take advantage of Hong Kong's position as the premier gateway to China.
Mr Tsang, who called on Victoria's Governor Alex Chernov, noted Victoria accounted for 16% of the bilateral trade between Hong Kong and Australia and that there there is room for growth.
He added that Hong Kong's position as a renminbi offshore centre, international asset-management centre and logistics centre for high valued goods was underscored in China's 12th Five-Year Plan.
Mr Tsang later visited the Melbourne Docklands, accompanied by Acting Lord Mayor Susan Riley, to learn about its waterfront community development, which comprises 200 hectares of land and water along 7km of waterfront.
