
Hong Kong employees' long working hours already a cause for concern
A report on the standard working hours has been released.
In a release, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung says the Government has no pre-conceived idea on the way forward for the legislation of standard working hours, adding it is keeping an open mind on the issue.
The Government released the full report of the Policy Study on Standard Working Hours after briefing the Labour Advisory Board on its major findings.
According to Mr Cheung, the relatively long working hours situation in Hong Kong is a subject of considerable public concern and needs to be addressed, adding the Government took the initiative to launch a policy study on standard working hours last year.
