
F&B sector remains hardest hit by private sector vacancies in March
There were a total of 12,030 vacancies.
The food and beverage sector continued to rack up the most vacancies in the private sector after accounting for 12,030 vacancies out of 76,880 overall, according to the Census & Statistics department.

The retail trade was also battered by a growing number of unfilled positions at 8,110 vacancies in March followed by 7,670 from the professional and business services. There were also 6,290 and 6,090 vacancies in the import and export trade and financing and insurance industries respectively.
Similarly, vacancies in the human health service industry ballooned by a whopping 99% to 1,640 followed by professional and business services which rose 11% to 750. On the other hand, jobs were filled as vacancies decreased by 9% in cleaning and similar services.

In terms of major occupation, private sector vacancies were observed mainly in service and sales workers (23 740 vacancies), associate professionals (14 670 vacancies), elementary occupations (13 870 vacancies), and clerical support workers (9 190 vacancies).
