3,600 jobs geared up at Cheung Sha Wan fair

According to a government release, a job fair at Lai Kok Community Hall in Cheung Sha Wan from November 7 to 9 will offer more than 3,600 vacancies.

The 51 participating organisations will offer jobs in the retail, catering, property management and other community and social services industries. Seventeen organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.

The vacancies cover a variety of positions, including floral designer, fitness professional, pet groomer, cross-boundary driver, landscaping worker, storekeeper, technician, chef, waiter/waitress, shop assistant, cashier, security guard and cleaner.

About 83% of the vacancies are full-time jobs, and most offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 97% require a Secondary Six education level or below, while around 69% are open to job seekers without relevant experience. Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration.

The fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Lai Kok Community Hall, G/F, Lai Kok Estate, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon (MTR Cheung Sha Wan Station Exit A1).
